When you’re hungry and in need of a quick snack, simply heat up some ghee, toss in some bananas, and watch them sizzle. A dash of spices, cinnamon, and ginger, make these morsels quite delicious!

Directions

For best results deep fry the bananas in ghee. Otherwise, slice bananas and sauté them in ghee, tossing gently to avoid mushing the banana. Garnish with spices. Optionally try cardamom—an Ayurvedic favorite.

This rich, nourishing snack couldn’t be easier to make or more satisfying from tummy to soul. Enjoy as a quick snack, a light breakfast, or as a healthy dessert.

Editor’s Note:
In Ayurveda, ghee has been used as a medicinal food for thousands of years.
Similar to clarified butter, ghee is made with unsalted, cultured butter, simmered until all the water evaporates and the milk solids sink to the bottom—lightly caramelized—then removed, leaving behind a pure, healthy, and richly flavored multi-purpose oil.
Ghee is often suitable for the lactose and casein intolerant as, when made properly, 99.9 percent of the lactose is removed. Ghee has a high smoke point making it an excellent cooking oil and is suitable for keto diets.
