"This Isn't Medicine, It's a Miracle": Man's Terminal Stage 4 Cancer Disappears After Powerful Encounter with Jesus, Leaving Doctors in Awe

Chuck Keels, 58, lived an active, healthy life and never expected his world to be turned upside down by a cancer diagnosis. Diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, which had spread to 90% of his bones, Chuck was given only three months to live. What happened next astonished his doctors and left an indelible mark on his faith. After a miraculous encounter with Jesus, Chuck's cancer disappeared, and today he shares his story of hope and healing with people across the world.

A Devastating Diagnosis: Stage 4 Cancer

Born and raised in Ohio, Chuck moved to Phoenix, where he built a successful landscaping business and raised his two sons as a single father. A fitness enthusiast who valued clean eating and juicing, Chuck prided himself on living a healthy lifestyle. So, when he started feeling exhausted and in pain, he initially dismissed it. But after the symptoms worsened, he went to the emergency room, where doctors delivered the life-changing diagnosis: stage 4 cancer that had metastasized to his bones and lymph nodes.

"I never imagined getting cancer," Chuck says. "I always thought I’d be that healthy old man you see riding his bike at 85 years old." After a series of tests, the doctors gave Chuck the devastating news: he had only three months to live. "They told me the cancer was in 90% of my bones, and I should go home and be with my family," Chuck recalls.

He was placed in hospice care, a stark reminder that his time was running out. "I was trying to get my two boys from Arizona to Ohio so my family could take care of them when I was gone," Chuck remembers. But his life took a dramatic turn one fateful day.

A Miraculous Encounter With Jesus

As he lay in the recovery room after undergoing surgery for a double spinal collapse—a complication caused by the cancer’s invasion of his bones—something extraordinary happened. "The room turned cold for no reason," Chuck says. "I looked up, and someone was standing in front of me. At first, I thought it was a doctor because I was in the recovery room."

But what happened next left Chuck speechless. "The person stepped forward, reached out, and touched me on the shoulder," he recalls. "In that moment, I heard the words, 'You are in the presence of Jesus.' I hadn't been to church in 10 years, so I was confused. Why me?" Chuck's encounter lasted only seconds, but it changed the course of his life. "I felt this overwhelming sense of peace," he says. "I knew I was going to make it through."

That touch of divine presence fueled Chuck's determination to fight the cancer ravaging his body. "Even when they said I had three months to live, I kept hearing that voice inside me saying, 'You're going to make it through this.'"

The Battle of Chemotherapy

Chuck underwent six rounds of chemotherapy—a grueling experience that tested his body, mind, and spirit. Despite his positive mindset, the treatment took a heavy toll. "I hated chemo," Chuck admits. "It kicked my butt. I felt so sick that by the end of the six months, I didn’t want to go in for the final rounds."

The side effects were brutal. "I lost my hair, had burns lining my throat, and felt exhausted for days after each session," he recalls. "Even though my body was breaking down, I still pushed myself to get up and move." Chuck refused to let the chemo sideline him completely. "I would go to the gym and lift light weights, even if I could barely manage it. I kept swimming, biking, and running in the park. I was determined to stay active."

Despite the physical pain, Chuck's faith kept him grounded. "At times, I wondered if I even needed the chemo," he says. "I felt better when I was juicing, using essential oils, and focusing on nutrition. But I did the chemo because that's what the doctors recommended." Even though chemo seemed unbearable at times, Chuck believes that enduring it was part of his journey—one that allowed him to relate to and coach others going through similar battles. "Now, when I coach cancer patients, I can speak from experience. I know what it's like to go through chemo, and I can walk with them through that journey."

Faith in Action: A Miraculous Healing

Six months after starting treatment, Chuck returned to the hospital for a scan. The results left his oncologist stunned. "My doctor had studied cancer all over the world, but she had never seen anything like my case," Chuck says. "She said, 'Chuck, this isn’t medicine. This is miraculous.' The cancer that had invaded my bones was completely gone."

Not only had the cancer disappeared, but Chuck's bones—once riddled with disease—had healed so completely that doctors could hardly believe they had ever been damaged. "She told me, 'Your bones are so strong and clean, it’s like they were never broken,'" Chuck recalls, still in awe of his miraculous recovery.

For Chuck, this healing was nothing short of divine intervention. "I was cured by God," he says. "I had an absolute miracle, and it changed everything." His faith, once distant, had now become the cornerstone of his life. "God saved me for a reason, and now I know that reason is to help others."

A New Chapter: Meeting Hannah

Chuck’s journey didn’t just lead to healing; it also opened the door to love. After his recovery, Chuck met Hannah, a fellow cancer survivor who was battling stage 4 breast cancer. Chuck initially coached Hannah through her cancer journey, helping her stay positive despite the odds. "She wondered who would want to date her now," Chuck shares. "And I told her, 'I hope I’m on that list.'" After four months of dating, Chuck and Hannah got married and began a new chapter of their lives together, dedicated to helping others overcome their battles.

Tragically, Hannah passed away on November 29, 2022. While her loss was heartbreaking, Chuck continues to honor her legacy through their shared work, helping others find hope in the face of adversity.

Through the Living Hope Cancer Foundation, which offers free coaching and support to cancer patients and their families, Chuck is dedicated to helping others find hope in their own battles. "We want to give people hope," Chuck says. “Even when the doctors say there’s no hope, we believe in miracles. We believe in the power of faith.”

Their motto, "Get up and live," is not just a slogan but a way of life. "Cancer taught me that life is precious," Chuck reflects. "Even when you’re facing something as terrifying as cancer, you can still get up, live, and find joy in the new normal."

Chuck's story is a beacon of hope for those facing life’s greatest challenges. His encounter with Jesus, his battle through chemotherapy, his love story with Hannah, and his miraculous recovery all serve as a testament to the power of faith and the human spirit. "I believe that no matter what you’re going through, there’s always hope," Chuck says. "God has a plan for each of us, and sometimes that plan includes miracles."

It was a great story but wish they had clarified about the wife. If he was a single parent where did she come from? It kind of throws a monkey wrench into the story.

Some people are totally healed and some experience the greatest healing of all and that is being taken home to eternity with the Lord. We may never know why this is, but continue to trust the Lord...he hasn't been wrong yet! I hope Chuck turns thousands of non believers into believers with his journey. Take a deep breath and thank the Lord everyday.

This is a marvelous story, but there is a problem here regarding his wife Hannah. The caption under the first picture says that she died of cancer, then the words in one of the following paragraphs says that she helped him form this new organization. So is Hannah alive or has she passed from this life?

My husband was a Pastor for 50 years and received several "final diagnoses" through the last 20 years of his life. I remember the top Cardiologist in our state's Capitol City looking up from his desk when we came in and saying, "You're still alive! I can't believe you're still alive!" One after another medical "experts" predicted my husband's demise, but Jesus used those 20 years as a platform in the medical world to grab people's attention, and convince them to consider that Jesus was, indeed, the only "Way, the Truth, and the Life." Sometimes our "pulpit" changes, but our message can still vibrantly affect lives.
