These days we have all been touched by someone dealing with a serious illness, or perhaps has a family member or pet who passed away. There are people who have gone through job loss, divorce, relocations, and other financial stressors. There just seems to be a lot going on in people’s lives. There are also people who haven’t experienced any of those things, but simply watching the news puts them in a state of stress. It can even create health issues like loss of sleep or fatigue. Wouldn’t it be nice to have some support that doesn’t take a lot of time to add to our lives and still be effective?
That’s where the Bach Flower Remedies come in. One remedy that can help in most of the situations listed above is something called Rescue Remedy. It is a combination of five different Bach Flower Remedies, and it is already in a solution so a person can benefit from all five without buying them individually. Low maintenance for everyone.
Rescue Remedy contains the following remedies:
  • Cherry Plum for fear of losing control
  • Clematis for grounding
  • Impatiens for impatience
  • Rock Rose for terror
  • Star of Bethlehem for grief, trauma, and shock
The combination can be used in a dilution or directly on the tongue. It can also be put right on the skin, in a lotion, or in a bath to be absorbed by the skin. It also comes in gum and lozenges for ease of transport like on the plane and as another subtle way of taking the remedies. Rescue Remedy is typically added to the water that you drink. It can be put in a dilution of 2 to 4 drops per cup of water when drinking it.
It is wonderful to witness the shift: when a person or animal is in the middle of a stressful episode, adding just a little Rescue Remedy to the equation, a subtle, or sometimes profound change occurs in the energy of the person or animal. The ability to breathe and cope increases.
Rescue Remedy can be taken during stressful situations or it can be used as ongoing support if there is a long period of stress in a person or animal’s life. Using it more as a treatment can be interesting as it gives the person or the animal time to adjust and expand in the ability to deal with the stress. People who are very aware of their mind and physical body, as well as emotional make up can usually discern the difference after taking Rescue Remedy in a short period of time. There are times when it is easier for the witnesses to notice the difference.
Rescue Remedy is homeopathic which means that “less is more” when taking it. If you wish to have a more profound response then shift the ratio of remedy to water. Try putting two drops in a cup instead of four. I have even added some drops to a favorite hand lotion and then used the lotion to get the benefits of Rescue Remedy.
All Bach Flower Remedies can create side effects. It isn’t always the case, but if they do, it is typically a very short-term feeling similar to “catching a bug” but nothing actually happens. Most times the person just starts to feel more like themselves and more at ease. Dr. Bach would have called it, “Life comes along and hits the keys on the piano and puts the keys out of tune. Bach Flower Remedies ‘tune the piano’.”
All ages can safely take Rescue Remedy, even those on medications. There is no chemistry in the Bach Flower Remedy so it cannot actually trigger a response chemically. This makes it a wonderful addition to any medicine chest. It can be taken with food or drink and it can help regardless of the time of day that it is administered.
Rescue Remedy is sometimes found in grocery stores, health food stores, and online. We can have confidence that it works because it has been around for approximately one hundred years. Bach Flower Remedies like Rescue Remedy will work on the emotional and energetic results of the stressor. They do not typically work on the physical symptoms. Knowing that and being able to start to address some of the reasons for our stress is empowering. Don’t just trust me—do your own research and become familiar with this amazing blend and what it can do for you, and remember, it is also wonderful for pets.
