She sat down with us to discuss what people aren’t understanding about the latest war between Hamas and the State of Israel. “I think Jews and antisemitism are frequently taken out of the equation here [in terms of] what's going on. But for both diaspora Jews and Jews in Israel, this is really an attack on their identity,” says Ms. Rhea. “It says in [Hamas’s] charter that they want to eliminate every Jew from the land of Israel—from the ‘Zionist entity’—and then move on to the rest of the world. So, we're talking really about genocidal antisemitism here. And unfortunately, in a lot of Arab-Muslim cultures, kids are still raised with Jew hatred from a very early age.
