Paris’s Notre Dame Cathedral Is Back It took more than five years to restore the Notre-Dame de Paris Cathedral after a devastating fire partially destroyed it in 2019. Today, the Cathedral showed itself anew to the world.
French President Emmanuel Macron took a two-hour televised tour of the famed 12th-century Gothic cathedral on Friday. He thanked the 1,300 workers who helped with restoration efforts.
Live broadcasts showcased the soaring ceilings, intricate stonework, stained glass windows, and carved stone gargoyles, all appearing to have been restored to their former glory.
Notre Dame Cathedral will be open to the public on Dec. 8. Catch a glimpse of its majestic new look here› FEEDBACK Do you like the story? Do you have suggestions for us? Tell us here. |
