Iran Hacks Trump Campaign

Microsoft said on Friday that a high-ranking official on a U.S. presidential campaign had been hacked by an Iran-backed group. The Trump campaign later revealed that it was the target of a cyber attack by “foreign sources hostile to the United States.”

Politico reported that on July 22 it began receiving emails from an anonymous source using the alias Robert. The emails reportedly contained internal documents from the Trump campaign. Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung told Politico that the release of the stolen documents was “intended to interfere with the 2024 election and sow chaos throughout our democratic process.”

Cheung linked the timing of the breach to reports of Iranian plots against Trump, who remains a target of Iranian hostility after ordering the 2020 assassination of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani. The Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) released a statement in July confirming that Iranian groups had targeted the U.S. political campaign, specifically that of Trump, to influence the upcoming election. Are You a Good Dinner Guest?

Dinner starts at 6 p.m. Should you arrive at 5:30 p.m.? Or is it best to be fashionably late? In contemporary etiquette, there is only one right answer. And it’s neither of the two.

With Mr. Harrold’s help, we’ve put together a quiz to test your etiquette IQ as a casual dinner party guest. From nailing the greeting to properly handling the toilet seat (gentlemen, take note!), we'll cover it all. Let’s see who’s an etiquette pro and who might need a little help. Take the Quiz ›

Organ Harvesting Survivor

A man who had part of his liver forcibly removed in communist China has stepped forward after escaping the country, drawing attention to the Chinese Communist Party’s mass murder-for-profit scheme known as forced organ harvesting..

Cheng Peiming, a Falun Gong practitioner turning 59 this month, recalls six prison guards pinning him down in a Chinese hospital to administer anesthesia against his will while being held in a prison in northeastern China over his faith. Only after escaping to the United States in 2020 and taking a series of medical tests did he confirm his worst fears: part of his liver was gone, along with a portion of his lung.

But Peiming’s story offers hope. He is living proof of the heinous organ trade which has been taking place in China for more than two decades. As more witnesses like Peiming have come forward, concern over the issue has steadily grown, with the United States calling on China to open its doors to international scrutiny, and the House passing a bill called the Falun Gong Protection Act, which the Senate has also introduced, to curb the abuse.
